EMPOWERMENT BASED
SELF-DEFENSE WORKSHOP
This self-defense workshop is a seven-hour course designed to teach self-defensive skills on increased awareness, confidence and safety. This class is taught in one, two or three sessions. For women and girls ages 18 and older. Girls 13-17 can take this workshop with an adult present.
The workshop will cover:

The importance of intuition and bias

Passive, assertive, & aggressive behavior and communication

Boundary setting

De-escalation techniques

Verbal self-defense

Physical self-defense

Domestic Violence and trafficking in America

Understanding our bodies fight, flight, and freeze response

This workshop is taught regulary at the Mid-Willamette Family YMCA.

We want all women and girls to have this class available to them so scholarships are available upon request! ​
